Established in 1965, we have many years of experience in offering quality holidays. Originally specializing in the Middle East, we were the first tour operator to organise tours to the Caucasus and parts of Central Asia after the break up of the Soviet Union and have since then added many new and exciting countries to our worldwide brochure. PRIVATE TOURS
Our private tours offer holidays to exciting destinations with well planned itineraries. Based on one or two people or a group of friends travelling together, they are guaranteed to depart and prices are indicated in our brochure.

Our private tours include international flights, accommodation, a private English speaking local guide and a private car with driver throughout, as well as a full sightseeing programme. Enjoy the convenience of being able to stop when you wish, ask as many questions as you like and travel at your own pace. You can easily add extra nights at any point along the tour for a more relaxed itinerary.

FAMILY HOLIDAYS
More and more families are turning away from the traditional beach holiday and are looking for something different, combining adventure, education and relaxation. Most of our holidays can be adapted to suit your family’s interests, maybe travelling at a slower pace and including some adventurous activities, hotels with swimming pools, extra free time and a stay on the beach.

Egypt, Jordan and Morocco are wonderful family destinations, combining a rich historical heritage with some wonderful beaches. We offer good discounts for children under 12 years old ranging from 25-50% on flights and accommodation.

Accommodation
Our destinations can now be enjoyed in comfort. We normally use 4 star accommodation on our tours and in order to give our guests a taste of local life we will also incorporate good quality traditional hotels, pensions, madrassahs, lodges or riverboats. In more remote areas where the choice of accommodation is limited, we will use the best available.

Guides
All travel and sightseeing excursions are accompanied your own private local English speaking guide, who will not only be in charge of the tour planning but will help you gain valuable insight into the history, culture and daily life of their country. Your guide can adapt the tour to your specific interests.

We will not cancel your tour at short notice. If you are booked on one of our personal tours, it is guaranteed to depart.

ASSOCIATION OF BRITISH TRAVEL AGENTS (ABTA)
ABTA is the organisation which represents UK tour operators responsible for the sale of over 90% of package holidays. It is ABTA’s role to ensure that you, the customer, benefit from consistently high standards of trading practice in the travel industry; that the standards of service and business throughout the membership are of the highest calibre.

Holiday Protection. ABTA members operate under strict codes of conduct, to promote your best interests. So when you see the ABTA symbol n your tour operator’s brochure, you can be confident that the descriptions of your travel arrangements have been compiled under comprehensive guidelines set by ABTA to ensure clarity and accuracy.

Financial Protection. As an ABTA tour operator you are covered by financial protection. This
means you can book your holiday knowing that if an ABTA member fails financially while you’re on holiday, you’ll be able to continue as originally planned, and in any event be certain ABTA will make sure you get back to the United Kingdom.

IATA is the Trade Association of the world’s international airline industry. Originally founded in 1919 it now groups together nearly 270 airlines. These airlines fly over 95% of all international scheduled air traffic. One of the many functions of IATA is their Agency programme. On behalf of their airline members, IATA approves and controls the more than 90,000 accredited passenger Agents worldwide.

The vast majority of all Silk Road Tours air tickets are issued for flights on scheduled airlines. The Company therefore needs to be an Accredited IATA Agent, and to become one Silk Road Tours needs to demonstrate financial soundness, proficiency of staff and the suitability and security of our premises. To remain members, all Accredited Agents are required to undergo annual checks by IATA.
