This large, tropical island off the southern coast of China is a haven of sun, sand and surf. With large expanses of open beaches, palm trees and central highlands with excellent hiking opportunities it is a great destination for some relaxation when in the Far East.

As well as soaking up the sun there are several towns to explore on the island and an excellent cuisine. The interior highlands are rarely visited and it is possible to arrange walking trips.
