Leptis Magna

Severan Forum, Leptis Magna
Severan Forum, Leptis Magna
Leptis Magna on the Mediterranean Sea coast belongs to both the Phoenician and Roman civilizations and is considered to be the most attractive archaeological site in Libya. Walking through the ruins, it is difficult to conceive that the buildings you pass through are over 1700 years old, such is their state of preservation.

Visit the market place, theatre, the many forums, pink marble baths and the vast amphitheatre, you’ll be amazed.

Right on the Mediterranean shore the setting is spectacular and unlike so many ancient sites there is so much actually present that the imagination need only ponder the finer details of life in Roman city.
