EGYPT
With its written history spanning some five millennia, it is difficult to grasp the breadth and richness of this nation's past. It encompasses the very origins of civilisation, the establishment of the Jewish, Christian and Islamic religions, the colonial era when first France and then Britain ruled the country and finally the return to independence.

ETHIOPIA
Ethiopia has a history of human settlement going back nearly 6 million years when man’s earliest ancestors settled here. The landscape is magnificent with not only the splendid Great Rift Valley but also the imposing Simien Mountains providing dramatic scenery. The country’s history, littered with stories of the Queen of Sheba and the final resting place of the Ark of the Covenant, is nothing short of fascinating, and sites such as the famous rock-cut churches of Lalibela are truly breathtaking. The people are warm and welcoming and none of the sites are overrun with tourists.

LIBYA
Its perception largely clouded by its modern history, Libya is a vast country whose position along the north African trade routes gave rise to settlement by, among others, the Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans before Islam came in the 7th century AD.
The remains of these ancient cities are truly startling and Leptis Magna can easily lay claim to being the most impressive in the world.

MOROCCO
Morocco has long held the fascination of Western travellers and it is easy to see why. Its geographical splendour and cultural heritage combine to make any tour full of highlights.
With its long Mediterranean and Atlantic coastlines, near impenetrable Atlas Mountains and Southern Oases that lead into that greatest of all deserts, the Sahara, the scenery is never less than breathtaking.
