Qazvin
Long famous for its carpets and seedless grapes, the northern town of Qazvin is an important transit centre and is a good place to stop when heading up into the Caspian Sea region.
As well as the Friday mosque there is a large mausoleum built in the 16th century fro Emanzade-ye Hussein that is particularly beautiful. The Mosque of the Prophet, in the middle of the bazaar, and the museum are also well worth a look.
